LANGUAGE ASSESSMENTS

Looking for a quick and easy way to test your language skills? For a job or project that requires fluency in Dutch, English, German, French or Italian? Have an independent (Chartered) linguist check your fluency so you won't look bad at the actual event.

I have been a linguist for more than 30 years so I can give you my honest and unbiased opinion. The assessment is easy and won't take up too much of your time. After all these years of experience in the language industry, it doesn't take too long for me to assess your skills.

How does it work?

Your first step is to send me an email: anita@anitavanadelsbergen.nl

indicating in which language you would like to be assessed: Dutch, English, German, Italian or French.

You willl subsequently receive an email in return with more information about the assessment, payment information and a short reading and writing assignment.

The assessment consists of four parts: reading, writing, speaking and listening. You will receive an email containing the assigments for the reading and writing parts. In this assignment you will write and read a short text in your test language  (approx. 300 words). Please note: The use of AI is not allowed. It is of course possible to use a dictionary. If you have used AI, don't worry -as I will find out during our conversation for the speaking part!

Both the reading as well as the writing assigments are done before the conversation test.

After the reading and writing, there will be only one final step to take: the speaking and listening test during our Zoom conversation. During our informal conversation we will discuss the reading assignment as well as the writing part. Don't worry too much about this one, it will just be an informal chat talking about all sorts of things. By hearing you speaking the language, I will be able to properly assess your skills. The Zoomcall will take about an hour.

After the Zoomcall, you will receive a written document outlining the grades for the four individual parts as well as your current CEFR level. The CEFR grading system is the common framework for language proficiency in Europe. These levels run from A1 to C2.

This assessment is available for both individuals as well as companies.

The all-in fee for the above mentioned assessment for individuals would be 229 euro, excl. Dutch VAT (where applicable). The fee is to be paid before the speaking assessment during the Zoomcall.

Companies can contact us beforehand to request a quote, the price depends on the amount of candidates.
